Film Crew Disrupts Central Warsaw Traffic
A film crew in Śródmieście will close a key junction on May 17, affecting drivers and buses. Plan alternate routes and expect delays.
A film crew in Śródmieście will occupy the Bonifraterska and Świętojerska junction on Sunday, May 17. Consequently, the intersection will close to vehicles all day, from 04:00 to 22:00.
Film crew in Śródmieście: what is closing and when
The city announced a full closure of Bonifraterska at Świętojerska. Therefore drivers cannot pass through that crossing between 04:00 and 22:00. Moreover, the closure follows road milling works on Świętojerska that finish the same day. As a result, film crews will replace the roadworkers on site. In addition, pedestrians will not use the crosswalks during filming. Consequently, expect restricted foot access at the junction.
Detours for drivers and local access
The official detour sends cars via Muranowska, Andersa, Marszałkowska and Senatorska. However, drivers heading to properties on Nowiniarska, Ciasna, Telakowska, Gomulickiego and Świętojerska will reach them from Plac Krasińskich. Therefore navigation apps may reroute dynamically. Moreover, street parking and short-term stops near the set will likely close. Consequently you should avoid the immediate area if possible.
Public transport changes and which buses are affected
Several bus lines will run altered routes. Lines 100, 116, 178, 180, 503 and 518 change paths for the day. For example, 100 will use Andersa and Muranowska. Meanwhile 116 toward Wilanów will go straight via Andersa, Plac Bankowy and Senatorska to Miodowa. In addition, 116 toward Chomiczówka will go from Miodowa to Kapucyńska, Aleja “Solidarności” and Andersa. Moreover, 178 and 503 toward Skorosze and Natolin Płn. will run Muranowska, Stawki and Andersa, then through Plac Bankowy and Senatorska. Conversely, those lines toward Konwiktorska will use Kapucyńska, Aleja “Solidarności”, Andersa and Muranowska. Furthermore, 180 toward Wilanów leaves Anielewicza to Andersa and reaches its route via Plac Bankowy and Senatorska. In the other direction 180 turns from Miodowa to Kapucyńska and uses Aleja “Solidarności”, then Andersa and Nowolipki to return. Finally, 518 will run Andersa and Anielewicza to Esperanto loop. Therefore check live schedules before travel, because times will shift.
Travel apps and the Warsaw Public Transport authority, ZTM, publish temporary routes. Consequently you should verify stops and timetables. Moreover, allow extra time if you have tight connections.
