Weekend road closures in Lublin centre

Expect Lublin traffic disruptions this weekend as streets close for a night run and a cycling rally. Plan detours and expect public transport changes.

Attention drivers: expect Lublin traffic disruptions this weekend in the city centre.

Organisers will close key streets for a night run and a Sunday cycling rally.

Lublin traffic disruptions: schedule and routes

On Saturday 13 June, the “Nocna Piątka” night run will run from 22:00 to 23:00. Runners will start at Plac Teatralny. They will follow Aleje Racławickie and Krakowskie Przedmieście. They will then run along Kołłątaja, Okopowa and Lipowa. Consequently, the city will stop traffic completely on the route. In addition, city buses will use detours and altered stops.

Public transport and road advice

On Sunday 14 June, a cycling rally will move through the city between 10:00 and 11:00. The column will use a single traffic lane. It will start near the Church of the Holy Family on ul. Jana Pawła II. It will finish at Plac Litewski. Moreover, Kapucyńska Street will close from 06:00 until the festival ends. Therefore, drivers should expect local diversions and longer commutes. However, emergency vehicles will retain access where safe.

Practical tips for residents and visitors

Plan journeys in advance and allow extra time. Use navigation apps for live updates. Taxi drivers will often know the fastest detours. Also, parking near the centre may temporarily vanish. Consequently, consider public transport or walking. Carry ID and proof of registration if you plan long stays. For expats, remember that police can issue a mandat (fine). Also carry your PESEL if you have one (PESEL = Polish national identification number). In addition, if you use public services, keep your NFZ card handy (NFZ = national health fund). Finally, remember that ZUS handles social security matters (ZUS = social insurance institution).

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: Expect temporary changes to public transport and parking near the city centre. Therefore, plan to arrive earlier for appointments and check bus routes that day. In addition, watch for volunteers and police directing traffic, and obey their instructions. Remember that authorities can impose a mandat (fine) for violations. Also, keep ID or your PESEL number ready if officials ask. For social and health matters, ZUS administers pensions and benefits, and NFZ covers public health services. Finally, carry a printed map if your phone battery runs low.
