The event marks Battery Recycling Day. Moreover, the city pairs collection with short education and energy advice. Participants will receive educational and promotional gifts. In 2023 the total reached 10.1 tonnes. In 2024 it stood at 9.3 tonnes. Therefore, in 2025 they recorded 11.8 tonnes. Moreover, the specific Eko-collection events brought 234 kg in 2021. In addition, they collected 790 kg in 2022. Also, the event gathered 380 kg in 2023, 365 kg in 2024 and 250 kg in 2025. These numbers show growing public engagement.

Year-round drop-off and practical tips

You do not need to wait for special events. The city places 142 small containers across public buildings, schools and universities. Moreover, a permanent drop-off point operates at Metalurgiczna 13F. It runs Monday to Saturday from 7:00 to 20:00. In addition, the municipal PSZOK takes batteries at Metalurgiczna 13K. Also, mobile collection points operate on the last Saturday of each month. Therefore, expats can drop batteries any time in these locations.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: In Poland you can often use municipal services without a PESEL (national ID number). However, some benefits do require it. PSZOK means the municipal bulky waste collection point.
