Weekend disruptions in Warsaw: Motorbike parade & march

Weekend disruptions in Warsaw: motorcyclists parade on May 9 and a Royal Route march on May 10. Expect road closures and bus diversions.

Weekend disruptions hit Warsaw on May 9-10 as motorcyclists ride through the city and a march moves along the Royal Route. Police will halt traffic temporarily, so expect delays and diversions.

Weekend disruptions: where and when

On Saturday, May 9 motorcyclists will meet in Piaseczno at 10:00. Then they will ride into Warsaw in staged groups. First they will take Pulawska. Then they will use the S2 express route and Przyczolkowa to reach the gardens in Wilanow. Moreover they will return via Przyczolkowa, the S2 and Wal Miedzeszynski towards PGE Narodowy. Next they will cross the Poniatowski Bridge. They will run along Aleje Jerozolimskie and Marszalkowska. They will pass Plac Konstytucji. In addition they will use Trasa Lazienkowska, Aleja Niepodleglosci and finish parts near the Palace of Culture. Police will stop traffic along the route. Therefore drivers should expect temporary holds. The parade will last until about 16:00.

Sunday march on the Royal Route

On Sunday participants will gather at 13:00 on Skwer Twardowskiego. Then they will march from Krakowskie Przedmiescie and Karowa along Trakt Krolewski to Rondo de Gaulle’a. During the march buses 106, 111, 116, 128, 175, 178, 180 and 503 may run detours. Consequently commuters should check live maps. However the organisers plan to finish by 15:00. Therefore normal traffic should resume soon after.

These events matter beyond delays. Moreover they show how Warsaw manages public gatherings. In addition the police coordinate traffic stops to keep people safe. For readers new to Poland note a few civic terms. For example a “mandat” means a fine. Also “PESEL” refers to your national ID number. Furthermore “NFZ” is the public health insurer and “ZUS” runs social security.

If you commute daily, plan alternate routes. Moreover use apps like Jakdojade for bus updates. Also expect limited taxi access near the march. Consequently hotels and shops on the Royal Route may see more foot traffic. Therefore allow extra time for appointments and meetings.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: If you live in Warsaw, carry ID when you travel near events. Moreover keep a screenshot of your journey plan. In addition check bus line advisories if you use lines 106, 111, 116, 128, 175, 178, 180 or 503. Also know that a “mandat” means a fine and police issue on-the-spot payments. Finally use alternative transport or work remotely if you can.
