Rzeszów renovates 50 schools over the summer

The city funds Rzeszów school renovations in 50 schools and kindergartens this summer, spending nearly PLN 2.9 million to upgrade facilities.

The city will carry out extensive Rzeszów school renovations this summer across 50 schools and kindergartens. Moreover the city will spend nearly PLN 2.9 million on the works to use empty buildings and avoid disruption.

Rzeszów school renovations: scope and costs

The programme covers large and small projects. Consequently crews will replace electrical systems in several buildings. In addition workers will upgrade toilets and replace floors. Moreover the city will renovate classrooms and gym halls. Therefore some schools will get new roofs and better insulation. Mayor Konrad Fijołek said the timing lets teams work safely while schools remain empty. As a result the city expects faster work and fewer interruptions when lessons resume.

Major projects and local impact

The biggest work is at Zespół Szkół Kształcenia Ustawicznego on Sucharskiego. There the internat will get a new electrical installation. In addition the school building will get a renovated water supply system. Meanwhile Zespół Szkół Mechanicznych on Hetmańska will see upgrades to the aula, stage, hall and staircase. Moreover workers will refurbish a storage room and a classroom. The nearby Centrum Kształcenia Zawodowego will receive roof insulation. Furthermore Szkoła Podstawowa nr 5 on Słocińska will modernise its building and surroundings. In addition the school will continue replacing electrical wiring in building A. Zespół Szkolno-Przedszkolny nr 6 on Krzyżanowskiego will restore the gym parquet and repaint walls. Moreover crews will replace floors in seven classrooms. Finally the sports pitch at SP34 on Matysowska will get repairs to make it safer for pupils.

What this means for families and the neighbourhood

The work should improve daily life at schools. Consequently parents can expect better safety and comfort for children. However some local disruptions may occur. Therefore residents should watch municipal notices about temporary access limits or short service shutdowns. In addition contractors may need brief road access for deliveries. As a result some parking or walkways may change temporarily. The city plans to coordinate works to limit noise during exams or summer events.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: Most school funding and maintenance comes from the municipal government, not from national bodies. Therefore contact the city (gmina or miasto) for local school questions. If you move to Rzeszów with children, register them through the municipal education office and check whether they need a PESEL (national ID number) for some enrolment steps. In addition remember Polish systems like ZUS (social security) and NFZ (national health fund) handle welfare and health, not school building works. Finally follow the local website and school notices for schedules and temporary limitations.
