Warsaw power outages: Planned schedule

Stoen Operator published a detailed list of targeted addresses. Moreover, the company said it will modernize and expand the local grid. However, the operator also noted that crews may cancel an outage if they finish work early. In addition, bad weather can force changes.

On Friday, June 19 workers will cut power on ul. Rosy 7A–7B, 9–9L from 08:00 to 12:00 for tree trimming near overhead lines. Moreover, ul. Zgoda 13 will lose power from 07:00 to 16:00 on the same day for low- and medium-voltage upgrades. Consequently, Monday, June 22 will see work on ul. Grzybowska 47 from 07:00 to 16:00 for similar upgrades. In addition, crews will work on ul. Brodnicka 4–4A on Tuesday, June 23 from 08:00 to 14:00 to expand the 0.4 kV cable network. Furthermore, Wednesday, June 24 will affect ul. Wałuszewska 37 from 08:00 to 14:00. Therefore, Thursday, June 25 will bring two longer breaks. First, ul. Dymkowska 9, 13–14, 16 will have an outage from 08:00 to 14:00. Second, ul. Witolińska 2 and 5 will lose power from 08:00 to 18:00 while crews modernize a transformer station.

What the work means and why it matters

The works aim to replace ageing infrastructure with modern underground cables. Moreover, new cables reduce the risk of future outages. In addition, modern transformer stations handle more load and improve reliability. Therefore, the projects benefit the city over the long term. However, residents face short-term inconvenience now.

You should prepare if your address appears on Stoen’s list. First, charge phones, laptops, and powerbanks the night before. Moreover, keep a charged flashlight and spare batteries. Second, disconnect sensitive equipment like home servers and NAS before the cut. In addition, unplug aquariums or provide battery backup for pumps. Third, limit fridge and freezer door openings during long outages. Consequently, food will keep safe longer. Fourth, if you depend on medical devices, contact Stoen before the planned break. The operator must consider such cases when scheduling.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: In Poland, public services use different names than some expats expect. For help with benefits and pensions, see ZUS (Social Insurance Institution). Moreover, for healthcare questions contact NFZ (National Health Fund). In addition, Polish ID uses a PESEL number (national ID number). Finally, a mandat means a fine for a rule breach. Therefore, keep important documents and emergency contacts ready during outages.

Always check the live schedule before the workday. Stoen updates its list online at stoen.pl under “Planowane wyłączenia”. Moreover, you can call Stoen’s hotline at 22 821 31 31 for clarifications. However, remember that the operator may cancel an outage without warning. Therefore, confirm the status on the morning of planned work.

For expatriates, the outage season shows the city’s effort to improve infrastructure. Moreover, it highlights how utilities plan and notify customers here. Therefore, learning local terms and contact channels helps you respond quickly.
