Police secured the scene and started an investigation. Therefore, officers will check the traffic lights operation and witness testimony. In addition, they will review CCTV and the bus’s onboard recording. As a result, the authorities will establish how the collision happened. The public transport operator notified the Nadzór Ruchu ZTM. Moreover, prosecutors may open formal inquiries if they find negligence. The driver may face charges or fines depending on evidence.

Impact on traffic and public transport

City services deployed two fire units and a medical team. Consequently, the intersection remains blocked during emergency work. Moreover, WTP rerouted line 111 via Anielewicza, Zamenhofa, Nowolipki and Andersa. Therefore, the Muranów 03 stop is temporarily omitted. Drivers should expect delays and follow police directions. In addition, commuters should check ZTM updates before travel.

Advice for expats

If you witness or suffer a similar crash, call 112 immediately. Moreover, obtain a police report at the scene. Then, keep medical records and receipts for later claims. In addition, photograph the scene and get witness contacts if safe. For healthcare, the NFZ funds urgent treatment for everyone in emergencies. However, the NFZ covers ongoing costs only for insured residents. Therefore, EU citizens should present a valid EHIC card. Non-EU residents need private insurance or must settle bills later. Also note ZUS handles social insurance claims for workplace injuries. Finally, contact your insurer and embassy for help with language and legal referrals.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: Dial 112 for any serious injury in Poland. Moreover, emergency departments will stabilise and treat you regardless of nationality. However, full coverage depends on the NFZ status or your private insurance. In addition, keep the police report and medical documents to claim damages. Also, learn terms like mandat (fine), PESEL (ID number), NFZ (national health fund) and ZUS (social insurance). Therefore, contact your embassy and insurer quickly after an accident.
