Over 1,200 Runners Shine in Lublin Night Five Run

Night Five Lublin drew 1,279 runners to Lublin’s illuminated streets, promoting fitness and community.

Night Five Lublin drew nearly 1,300 participants to central Lublin for an evening 5 km race. Consequently, the city center turned into a lively, sporty festival that celebrated grassroots running.

Fast course and wide appeal

The race started and finished by Theatre Square. Moreover, runners followed a route through Aleje Racławickie and Krakowskie Przedmieście. The course runs mainly on flat streets. Therefore, athletes found it friendly for fast times. Consequently, the winner crossed the line in 15 minutes 33 seconds. In addition, the podium included runners from other Polish regions and a competitor from Germany near Lublin.

Participation spiked as organisers responded

Organisers originally planned for 1,000 slots. However, demand exhausted those places quickly. Consequently, the event expanded entries. Ultimately, about 1,279 people finished the race. Moreover, the field included runners from across Lubelszczyzna and cities such as Kraków and Katowice. In addition, participants came from abroad. For example, runners arrived from Belarus, Italy, Turkey, Indonesia, Russia and Ukraine.

Why the Night Five matters for the city

The race promotes active living and community ties. Moreover, it showcases Lublin as a city that welcomes sport. Therefore, municipal authorities and local clubs benefit from year-round attention. In addition, such events boost evening footfall for restaurants and shops. Consequently, local businesses enjoy a financial and cultural lift. However, organisers keep a careful balance between safety and atmosphere. Police and event staff manage street closures and help runners and spectators.

Race results and demographics

The overall winner came from Lublin. Moreover, the male podium included athletes from Dukla and the Lublin area. The winning woman finished in 19 minutes 8 seconds. In addition, the female podium included competitors from Olsztyn and Lublin. Overall, 738 women completed the race. Furthermore, the youngest finishers were 14 years old. Conversely, two participants finished at age 76, showing the event draws all generations.

Night Five Lublin as a model event

Organisers emphasise inclusion over elite focus. Therefore, the race attracts both serious athletes and weekend joggers. Moreover, charity projects and local clubs often use the race to raise funds. Consequently, the event strengthens civic bonds and healthy habits.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: If you plan to join similar events in Poland, register early. Moreover, many races ask for a PESEL (Polish national ID number) only for residents. However, non-residents can usually register with a passport. In addition, public healthcare numbers (NFZ) and social insurance (ZUS) do not affect one-off race entries. Therefore, carry ID and your emergency contact. Finally, note that local stewards enforce rules and may issue a mandat (fine) for safety breaches.
