Mokotów crash blocks Woronicza Street, one hospitalized

Mokotów crash on Jana Pawła Woronicza injured one passenger; emergency crews blocked the road and documented the scene.

The Mokotów crash on Jana Pawła Woronicza happened on Friday, May 15, before 7:30 pm. Consequently, emergency crews sealed the scene and one person went to hospital.

Mokotów crash: details of the collision

Two cars collided at the Wyjazd turn near Woronicza. Moreover, the vehicles involved were a Mini and a Toyota used for ride-hailing. The Toyota turned left, while the Mini travelled straight towards Żwirki and Wigury. Therefore, contact occurred in the intersection and airbags deployed. The Mini driver suffered a wrist burn from the airbag. However, medics treated his injury at the scene. In addition, the Mini passenger required hospital transport. The Toyota driver, identified as a foreign national, escaped without injuries.

What happened and emergency response

Police, firefighters, and paramedics reached the scene quickly. Moreover, firefighters secured the cars and controlled hazards. Paramedics examined both drivers and the passenger. Consequently, one passenger left with ambulance transport. Authorities documented the site and gathered evidence. Therefore, investigators will determine cause and responsibility. In addition, the ride-hailing service vehicle remained part of the official inquiry.

Traffic impact and wider effects

The collision blocked Woronicza in both directions for a period. Consequently, buses stalled in traffic and crews rerouted vehicles. Moreover, transit disruption affected nearby cross streets. In addition, a separate collision later involved an MZA instructor heading to help. That second event involved a Corvette. Therefore, the area saw prolonged delays and extra police attention. Drivers and commuters should expect similar setbacks after evening incidents in central districts.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: If you witness or join a crash in Poland, call 112 for emergencies. Then wait for police (Policja) and ambulance (pogotowie). Moreover, if you need medical care, hospitals use the NFZ system (public health fund), and private clinics accept travel insurance. In addition, carry ID and provide PESEL if you have one (PESEL is a Polish ID number). If you do not have PESEL, show passport and insurance. File a police report if injury or significant damage occurred. Therefore, contact your insurer quickly and save receipts. Finally, note that a “mandat” means a fine for traffic violations. If you need help with legal or language issues, contact your embassy or a local expat support group. (ZUS is the social insurance institution; ZUS matters rarely affect immediate crash handling.)
