Zamość moves forward with the Pietnastka kindergarten renovation after six bids and strong EU funding support.

The city of Zamość has opened bids for the Pietnastka kindergarten renovation, and six contractors competed. Consequently, the proposals came in well below the city budget.

Pietnastka kindergarten renovation: bidders and budget

On Tuesday, July 21, officials opened offers for works at the Osiedle Zamoyskiego preschool. Moreover, six companies submitted tenders. The lowest bid amounted to about 3.1 million PLN. However, the highest bid reached nearly 4.7 million PLN. Therefore, the municipal budget of over 4.8 million PLN comfortably covers the chosen offer.

Funding mix and scope of works

The project forms part of a larger integrated scheme worth about 8.2 million PLN. In addition, local and regional authorities partner on the program. They secured nearly 5 million PLN in European Union funds. Consequently, the city’s portion totals roughly 3.9 million PLN. Moreover, about 3 million PLN of that came as EU grant support specifically for the municipal share.

Contractors will complete wide-ranging works. The EU-funded scope will include thermal insulation of external walls, ceilings, and the roof. In addition, teams will replace all external windows and doors. They will also install new damp-proofing. Moreover, the heating system will receive a comprehensive upgrade. The plan includes photovoltaic panels on the roof. In addition, the city will convert a room into an energy storage space. Furthermore, renovations will upgrade the entrance area, ramps, stairs, and exterior masonry.

The municipality opted to add non-EU-covered internal upgrades. Therefore, city funds will pay for new classroom flooring and technical room floors. In addition, Zamość will install new internal door joinery. Moreover, the plan includes repair of the waste shelter canopy. Consequently, children will benefit from a safer and warmer facility.
