ZUS pays 336.16 PLN monthly energy allowance
ZUS energy allowance pays 336.16 PLN monthly to certain pensioners, regardless of income. Check eligibility and apply with form ERK.
ZUS energy allowance now pays 336.16 PLN each month to eligible pensioners from 1 March 2026. However, the benefit covers only specific groups, not all seniors.
ZUS energy allowance: who qualifies?
The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) announced the rate for the flat energy supplement. Consequently, the monthly payment totals 336.16 PLN. Moreover, that equals 4,033.92 PLN over a full year. However, ZUS does not check income to award the payment. In addition, the right depends on legal status instead of pension size.
Not every retiree will get the money. ZUS limits the benefit to a closed list. For example, the law covers combatants and persons who suffered wartime or post-war repression. Also, it covers certain forced civilian conscripts. Furthermore, widows and widowers of entitled persons may qualify. Therefore, ordinary pension entitlement or a high energy bill does not create eligibility.
How much and how often
The allowance comes monthly, not as a single refund. Thus, eligible people receive the fixed amount every month. Moreover, the benefit undergoes periodic indexation under the law. Also, ZUS applies the new rate automatically for those with existing rights. Consequently, beneficiaries need not reapply after indexation.
How to apply and what to prepare
You must file form ERK to ask ZUS for the supplement. Also, ZUS lists required documents for each case. For combatants, you may need a decision by the Head of the Office for War Veterans and Victims of Oppression. For forced conscripts, provide documents proving the period and kind of employment. Moreover, widows should show the deceased spouse’s entitlement paperwork. However, you do not need to submit energy bills. The supplement is a flat payment, not a reimbursement.
The legal basis comes from the Act of 24 January 1991 on war veterans and certain victims of repression. Therefore, the measure is not a short-term price relief. Instead, it exists in Polish law and has changed size over time. For instance, the amount almost doubled since 2020.
For expats, the key point is status. Moreover, residency, age, or high utility bills do not grant the supplement. Therefore, check the closed legal categories closely. Also, ask ZUS for guidance if you believe you qualify.
In short, the 336.16 PLN monthly supplement can significantly help household budgets. However, only those in the statutory groups will receive it. Therefore, do not assume universal access. Instead, gather documents and file ERK if you meet the rules.
