The city will start Wisłostrada milling toward the city center on Thursday, August 27. The crews plan to finish by noon on Sunday, August 30.

What the Wisłostrada milling means for drivers

The contractor will close the carriageway heading to Śródmieście. Consequently, drivers must shift to the opposite carriageway. Moreover, the closed stretch runs from Pergaminów Street to the Grota-Roweckiego Bridge. However, traffic will use the second carriageway in both directions. In addition, crews will run one lane toward the center. They will leave two lanes open toward Łomianki. The cross-over will sit after the Skłodowska-Curie Bridge. Drivers will switch near the sewage pumping station. The return crossover sits before the Grota-Roweckiego Bridge. Therefore, the city suggests using Marymoncka to Trasa AK as a detour. Furthermore, vehicles from Podleśna should use Gwiaździsta to rejoin Wisłostrada by the Olympic Centre. Note that only traffic heading to Łomianki may turn onto Gwiaździsta.

Practical timetable and what to expect

The works start on Thursday at 18:00. The new carriageway opens Sunday at 12:00. Consequently, during the weekend drivers will face lane shifts. Moreover, from Sunday 12:00 to Monday 07:00 drivers toward the center can use all three lanes on that carriageway. Meanwhile, crews will close the right lane on the Łomianki-bound side. In addition, Gwiaździsta will connect to both carriageways during that window. However, crews plan further narrowing in later stages. They will reduce lanes by one or two at times. Therefore, the city warns of more disruptions. The contractor expects to mill the second carriageway near the end of September. We will publish more details closer to those dates.
