Uniformed Spring Fair in Kraśnik Draws Crowds

Mundurowa Majówka brought crowds to Kraśnik; the fifth edition showcased military, police and rescue services and offered career information.

Mundurowa Majówka drew large crowds to Kraśnik on Sunday. Moreover, the fifth edition officially opened the county’s outdoor events season.

Mundurowa Majówka participants and attractions

The event took place at MOSiR facilities in Kraśnik. Moreover, sunny May weather helped organisers and visitors. Several military and rescue formations displayed equipment. For example, soldiers from the 19th Lublin Mechanised Brigade attended. In addition, units from the 18th Artillery Brigade and the 18th Motorised Brigade presented vehicles and gear. Also, the 2nd Lublin Territorial Defence Brigade and the 3rd Sandomierz Radio-Technical Battalion engaged with the public. Police officers from the county police command answered questions. Furthermore, firefighters from the State Fire Service and the municipal volunteer fire brigade hosted demonstrations. The prison service from Opole Lubelskie and the Military Gendarmerie from Lublin ran information stands.

Hands-on displays, recruitment and history

Promotional stands attracted families and job seekers. Moreover, gear displays let visitors inspect protective equipment up close. Recruiters explained career paths in uniformed services. Consequently, many young people learned how to apply and what training looks like. Historic reenactors from the Group of Historical Reconstruction named for Colonel Tadeusz Zieleniewski staged scenes. In addition, local shooting associations offered supervised demonstrations. Also, WORD Lublin used the chance to remind drivers about road safety rules.

Community spirit and local support

Harcerze from the 16th Scout Team NS “Eskadra” welcomed guests with songs by the fire. Moreover, organisers designed the program for families. Local institutions supported the fair. For example, MOSiR Kraśnik and the Kraśnik Centre for Culture and Promotion helped with logistics. Therefore, the event ran smoothly. The fair also worked under the honorary patronage of MPs Anna Baluch and Kazimierz Choma. Furthermore, organisers thanked sponsors and media patron lublin112.pl.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: For expats, events like this offer a friendly way to meet local services. Moreover, you can ask about volunteering with OSP volunteer firefighters or about careers in the police or military. In addition, know that Polish administrative terms differ from other countries. For example, PESEL is your national ID number for many procedures. Also, ZUS handles social insurance contributions and NFZ manages public health services. Finally, a “mandat” means a fine for a legal breach, often issued by police for traffic offences.

The fair combined education with celebration. Moreover, it strengthened bonds between uniformed services and residents. For expats, such contact helps understand local safety norms. Therefore, the event mattered beyond entertainment. It showed how public institutions engage their communities.
