Drivers faced slowdowns and queueing on the S12.

Pedestrian struck on national road 19 in Lubartów

Separately, at about 10:40 a.m. a heavy truck struck a pedestrian on road 19 toward Lublin. As a result the pedestrian suffered injuries. Emergency teams worked at the scene. However police set up alternating traffic control. In addition officers directed cars at the roundabout from Lipowa Street. Consequently authorities warned that delays could last around three hours. Motorists should plan extra travel time.

Overview of Lublin road accidents and local response

Local police lead the traffic and investigation work. Moreover fire and medical units coordinate rescue and first aid. Consequently investigators will check each incident for speed, vehicle condition, and driver factors. Therefore drivers should slow down near emergency scenes. In addition obey any temporary limits or detours. This reduces further risk and helps responders work fast.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: If you need medical help after a crash, public care works under the NFZ (National Health Fund). NFZ covers urgent hospital treatment for insured residents, including many expats who contribute to the system. Therefore carry proof of registration or insurance when possible. Also the police file a report and may issue a mandat (fine) at the scene. If you follow up with claims, you may need a PESEL number (national ID number) or help from your embassy. ZUS is the social insurance institution for work-related claims. Keep vehicle documents and photos. Finally contact your insurer quickly to start a claim.

Police ask drivers to use caution when passing the scenes. Moreover follow directions from officers on site. Therefore expect delays if you travel toward Lublin today. In addition consider alternate routes where possible.

For expats, navigating post-crash procedures can seem complex. However local services generally work efficiently. Consequently keep key documents handy, note officer names, and collect witness contacts. Moreover keep receipts for any immediate expenses. Therefore you can speed up any insurance or administrative follow-up.

Authorities continue their work at both sites. Consequently lanes may reopen gradually. Drivers and pedestrians alike should remain vigilant on roads near Lubartów and Kurów.
