Poland to Pay 14th Pension in September 2026

The government schedules the 14th pension Poland payment for September 2026; eligible retirees may get up to PLN 1,978.49 gross.

The government announced that the 14th pension Poland will be paid in September 2026. Millions of pensioners and disability beneficiaries may see an extra payment that month.

Who will receive the extra payment and when

The ministry published a draft regulation that fixes September as the payment month. Consequently, the timing will match previous years. However, you will not see the money on the same calendar day as everyone else. The institution pays the 14th pension together with the primary pension or disability benefit. Therefore, the actual posting depends on your standard payment schedule.

How much can you expect

The maximum gross amount equals PLN 1,978.49. Moreover, that sum matches the lowest statutory pension after the latest annual indexation. However, not everyone receives the full amount. People whose main pension or benefit does not exceed PLN 2,900 gross get the full payment. In addition, a sliding rule reduces the amount above that threshold.

Specifically, each PLN 1 above PLN 2,900 reduces the extra payment by PLN 1. Thus, a pension of PLN 3,000 yields an extra PLN 1,878.49 gross. Also, a pension of PLN 4,000 yields PLN 878.49 gross. Therefore, the scheme works on a one-to-one offset above the limit.

Practical limits and exceptions

The law sets a minimum effective payment. If the calculated extra payment falls below PLN 50 gross, the agency pays nothing. Consequently, people receiving at least PLN 4,828.49 gross will not get a 14th payment. Moreover, some groups remain outside the scheme. For example, retired judges and prosecutors do not qualify. In addition, people with suspended benefits due to earnings may lose eligibility.

You do not need to file any separate claim. The relevant paying body, such as ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) or KRUS (farmers’ social insurer), will calculate and pay the amount automatically. Therefore, neither a trip to a local ZUS office nor an online form is necessary. The rule also covers benefits handled by other agencies, including the Pension and Disability Service for some uniformed services.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: If you live in Poland as an expat, check your gross pension figure to estimate eligibility. Remember that Polish institutions calculate benefits on gross amounts. Also, ZUS (Zakład Ubezpieczeń Społecznych) handles most state pensions, while KRUS covers agricultural pensions. Keep your PESEL number (national ID) and bank details up to date to avoid payment delays. If you receive a non-standard pension, contact your paying agency well before September.

Regional context matters. In Warsaw and across Mazovia, many retirees receive pensions below the PLN 2,900 threshold. Therefore, the extra payment can represent a significant income boost in the autumn. However, the quoted amounts are gross. Consequently, the net sum depends on tax and contributions.

Finally, the legal basis stems from the May 26, 2023 law on an additional annual cash benefit for pensioners and beneficiaries. The government will confirm the exact payout dates in a formal regulation. Meanwhile, beneficiaries should verify their current benefit amounts to plan personal budgets.
