New Warsaw recycling point opens in Białołęka

A new Warsaw recycling point opened in Białołęka for household hazardous and bulky waste. Learn what you can bring and why it matters.

The new Warsaw recycling point opened on Białołęka on Kopijników Street. Consequently, residents now have another place to drop off hazardous and bulky household waste.

Warsaw recycling point: what opened and where

The municipality opened a new PSZOK at ul. Kopijników 13. Moreover, the site operates Monday to Friday from 07:00 to 20:00. In addition, it opens on Saturdays from 09:00 to 17:00. However, officials close it on public holidays and on Holy Saturday. Therefore, people must plan trips around those hours.

What you can bring and why it matters

The point accepts a wide range of items from households. In addition, you may drop off used textiles that cannot be reused. Moreover, you may leave post-renovation waste like concrete elements, mirrors, and window glass. Consequently, the facility receives plastic, glass, paper, and cardboard packaging. In addition, the site takes paint cans, aerosols, and detergent containers. Furthermore, it accepts old tires, fire extinguishers, fluorescent lamps, and mercury thermometers. Moreover, residents may bring leftover paints, glues, and plant protection products. In addition, bulky waste, broken TV or household appliances, expired medicines, and used batteries also qualify. Therefore, the PSZOK helps prevent illegal dumping in parks and forests. Consequently, the city reduces fire hazards and pollution from improper disposal.

What the PSZOK will not take

The municipality rejects mixed municipal waste at the PSZOKs. Moreover, it refuses waste from businesses. In addition, staff may deny materials that come from commercial activity. Therefore, do not try to deliver business waste without prior permission. However, certain materials remain banned. Consequently, the points will not accept fuels, photovoltaic panels, roofing felt, or construction polystyrene. Moreover, staff will refuse any items that pose an immediate danger or require special permits.

Network and mobile services

The new PSZOK joins four permanent facilities across Warsaw. In addition, the city operates mobile PSZOK vans. Moreover, these vehicles visit 70 locations across districts. Therefore, you can check the city website for their timetable. Consequently, the system offers both fixed and temporary options for residents.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: In Poland, municipal services separate household and business waste strictly. For example, the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) handles social security, and the National Health Fund (NFZ) handles public health insurance. Moreover, local officials issue fines (mandat) for illegal dumping. Therefore, carry ID with your PESEL (personal number) or passport when you visit a PSZOK, because staff may need to confirm that waste comes from a household. In addition, if you run a business, consult local waste contractors or the city office before delivery.
