Major closures and bus detours on Kraśnicka
Kraśnicka roadworks will cause evening closures and bus detours in Lublin from 20–24 July. Expect lane narrows and rerouted lines.
Major traffic disruption will hit parts of Lublin next week as contractors begin paving on al. Kraśnickiej. The Kraśnicka roadworks will force staged lane reductions, nightly full closures, and significant bus route changes.
Kraśnicka roadworks: Evening closures and detours
The contractor will lay new asphalt layers on the right-hand side of al. Kraśnickiej. Consequently, the work will proceed in stages. Therefore, traffic patterns will change by day and time. From 20 to 23 July, drivers will find lane narrows daily between 07:00 and 17:00. However, crews will close sections at night and in the early morning. From 17:00 to 03:00 the road will face full closures on specific segments. On Monday 20 July and Wednesday 22 July, the stretch from ul. Nałęczowska to ul. Powstania Styczniowego will close. In contrast, on Tuesday 21 July and Thursday 23 July, closures will affect the stretch to ul. Wojciechowska.
What drivers and residents should expect
Road crews will also move to ul. Nałęczowska on 23 and 24 July. In addition, they will mill the old surface and lay fresh asphalt. On Thursday, expect local lane narrows from 07:00 to 17:00. On Friday, 24 July, the same stretch will close completely. Consequently, drivers heading toward Kraśnik must use alternate routes. Local signage will highlight detours. Therefore, follow the signs and temporary traffic lights.
Bus route changes and practical impacts
Public transport will use several detours between 20 and 23 July from 17:00 to 24:00. Lines 3 and 33 will go via al. Kraśnicka and ul. Nałęczowska. However, those buses will skip several stops. In addition, lines 12, 37, 42, 57, 78, 79, 151, 155, and 158 will face route shifts. Consequently, the city will move the start and end point for line 79 to Nałęczowska 02 during those evenings. Moreover, some services will use Rondo Honorowych Krwiodawców and Bohaterów Monte Cassino. Therefore, expect longer ride times. In addition, operators will place a temporary stop Nałęczowska 03 east of the junction. Passengers should check real-time updates on the municipal transport app.
Next phases and official guidance
The next construction phase starts on 27 July. It will include the closure of ul. Nałęczowska and ul. Głęboka. The city will publish detailed traffic rules before that stage. However, the contractor reserves the right to change dates. Consequently, drivers and passengers must watch local announcements. In addition, obey temporary signage at the site. The city aims to speed work while protecting safety.
For expats, this work affects commutes to schools, hospitals, and workplaces. Therefore, allow extra travel time. Moreover, taxis and delivery services will also use detours. Consequently, expect slightly higher fares and longer waits in the evenings.
Finally, the municipality and the contractor ask road users to remain patient. Moreover, they promise improved surfaces and traffic flow after completion.
