A macabre discovery of fetal remains and medical waste in Lutoryż triggered a criminal probe by Rzeszów prosecutors.

The Rzeszów prosecutor’s office opened an inquiry after workers uncovered medical waste and the discovery of fetal remains on a private lot in Lutoryż. Consequently, investigators detained a 57-year-old pathomorphologist suspect as the probe expanded.

These address desecration of remains and bear penalties up to two years in prison. In addition, they investigate Article 183 §5a. That article covers the abandonment of hazardous medical waste in unauthorized locations. Therefore, a conviction there can carry up to 12 years behind bars.
