Lublin tourism surged to 1.35 million visitors in the first half of 2026, up 4% year-on-year. Consequently, the city reports stronger hotel stays and rising international interest.
Why Lublin tourism is rising
The city credits a clear strategy for growth. Moreover, officials link the rise to cultural events and sports tied to Lublin’s bid as European Capital of Culture 2029. The mayor said the city invests in infrastructure, culture and sport. Therefore, the city aims to build an open and inspiring place. The Local Tourist Organization uses targeted promotion. Consequently, promotional work reaches markets abroad.
Who is visiting and where they come from
Domestic visitors make up most arrivals. In addition, Mazovia and Warsaw provide nearly 46% of Polish visitors. Over three years their numbers doubled to almost half a million. Moreover, over 300,000 visitors came from the wider Lublin region. Visitors also arrived from Lesser Poland, Podlaskie and Silesia. Significantly, foreign stays grew much faster. The city recorded a 39% rise in non-Polish guests.
International profile and sports tourism
British visitors topped foreign arrivals at about 15,000. Ukrainian and Israeli guests followed at 14,500 and 9,700 respectively. Furthermore, Germans, Italians and Americans ranked high. Interestingly, Slovaks, Chinese and UAE visitors entered the top 15 for the first time. In addition, club sport may bring new markets. For example, Ran Takahashi and Tomohiro Ogawa joined BOGDANKA LUK Lublin. Therefore, the moves may attract fans from Japan.
Longer stays and regional benefits
Over one third of visitors now stay at least one night. In the first half of 2026, overnight visitors totaled 437,000. Notably, two-day stays rose 56% to 237,800. However, day trips stayed stable at over 908,000. Moreover, more than 950,000 guests visited attractions outside the city during their trip. Consequently, tourism boosts the wider Lubelskie region and the metropolitan area.
