Klaudyny Street Repair Begins in Bielany — Delays Ahead
Klaudyny street repair starts July 20-23 in Bielany, Warsaw, causing full closures and bus detours for lines 121, 157, 181, 185 and N46.
The city will carry out Klaudyny street repair from Monday to Thursday, July 20-23. Consequently, drivers and public transport users must expect full closures and detours on Klaudyny between Podleśna and Rondo Ruda.
Klaudyny street repair: schedule and detours
Workers start at 04:00 on Monday with milling of the old surface. In addition, crews will lay new asphalt and reopen the road by Thursday at 06:00. Therefore, the full surface replacement takes under three days. However, the speed bumps will return later. In August, crews will rebuild the traffic calming features. Moreover, that later work will not close the street to traffic.
What drivers should expect
The city closes Klaudyny along its full length from Podleśna to Rondo Ruda. Consequently, planners set detours along Podleśna, Gwiaździsta, Potocka and Mickiewicza in one direction. In the opposite direction, drivers follow Rudzka, Lektykarska and Podleśna. In addition, the city will post no-parking signs. Therefore, vehicles left on Klaudyny may face towing at the owner’s expense. Furthermore, several side streets lose direct access. Rudzka, Pęcicka, Sobocka, Godowska, Rajszewska and Kiwerska will have restricted turns or connections.
Public transport and cycling impacts
Five bus lines reroute for the works. Lines 121, 157, 181, 185 and night N46 follow alternative paths. For example, the 157 will end at Rondo Ruda, at the Rudzka 03 stop. In addition, the 121 will detour via Marymoncka, Słowackiego, Gdańska and Hłaski and stop at Rudzka 01. Line 185 will run along Mickiewicza, Potocka and Gwiaździsta. Moreover, 181 and N46 take Potocka, Gwiaździsta and Podleśna. Consequently, passengers must plan different connections and expect longer travel times.
The cycle lane from Rondo Ruda into Klaudyny closes for the whole period. Therefore, cyclists must choose alternative routes. In contrast, pedestrians keep several crossings. The zebra crossings at the roundabout and at Podleśna remain open. In addition, crossings at Rajszewska and Sobocka stay available. However, crossings at Kiwerska and Pęcicka close.
Practical advice for residents and commuters
If you use Klaudyny daily, plan your route ahead. Therefore, check navigation apps before you leave. Moreover, consider parking elsewhere for the four days. In addition, expect delays on the detour roads. The city often enforces towing and fines during road works. A “mandat” in Poland is a fine for violations, and police or municipal officers issue it on the spot. In contrast, PESEL is a national ID number, while ZUS and NFZ are social insurance and health fund institutions. Therefore, those institutions do not affect short-term travel, but you must follow local rules for vehicle registration and parking.
