A landmark riverside complex in Wrocław will get a new life under a major redevelopment. The project, called Traugutta on the Oława, will convert the former Betania hospital into apartments and public space.
Heritage reborn along the river
Developer OKRE by Koramic will lead the conversion. Consequently, the firm plans careful restoration of five historic buildings. Moreover, they will add three new structures to complete the ensemble. The site sits between Traugutta Street and the Żabia Ścieżka green corridor. Therefore, residents will gain direct access to riverside paths and parks. In addition, the developer promises original wooden window frames and preserved staircases. The Provincial Conservator of Monuments, known in Polish as Wojewódzki Konserwator Zabytków, approved the plans. Accordingly, the conservation authority will supervise critical restoration steps. In addition, the design includes ground-floor shops and eateries. OKRE will also build a three-level underground garage with nearly 250 spaces. The scheme will create a one-hectare park with mature trees. Furthermore, the plan adds water features and nature trails between buildings.
