From Sept 1: Pekao charges for cash deposits
Bank Pekao introduces the Bank Pekao Euronet fee: 0.2% (min 1 PLN) for standard debit cards from Sept 1, 2026.
From 1 September customers of Bank Pekao will start paying for cash deposits at Euronet machines. Consequently, the Bank Pekao Euronet fee applies to standard debit cards and runs until 31 August 2027.
What changed: Bank Pekao Euronet fee and who pays
The bank announced the policy on 27 August, days before the change. Standard debit card users now pay 0.2 percent of the deposit, with a minimum charge of 1 PLN. Therefore a deposit of 100 PLN costs 1 PLN. Moreover, 1,000 PLN costs 2 PLN, and 10,000 PLN costs 20 PLN. The bank previously advertised a higher tariff of 0.4 percent, minimum 2 PLN on product pages. However Pekao’s latest notice overrides that for the specified year.
The bank kept an important exception. Customers with a gold debit card will still use Euronet machines free of charge until 31 August 2027. In addition, the rule for business clients differs. Account holders under the “Konto Biznes z Żubrem” tariff face 0.4 percent, minimum 2 PLN in Euronet devices from 1 September.
How this matters in practice
Many people used free Euronet deposits during the promotional period. That promotion started in June 2025 and ended on 31 August 2026. As a result now the convenience remains, but it can cost money. For occasional deposits the fee may feel small. However regular cash deposits add up fast. For example, a monthly 15,000 PLN deposit costs 30 PLN at Euronet. Therefore large or frequent cash receipts should trigger a quick check of alternatives.
Pekao operates its own network of deposit machines. Consequently deposits in the bank’s own devices follow account tariffs. Moreover some retail accounts allow free monthly deposits up to set limits. So customers should compare locations before they deposit large sums. Also check the bank app or website for the nearest Pekao machine.
Practical steps and precautions
First, check your card type in the mobile app. If you have a gold debit card you avoid the fee for a year. Second, calculate the fee before you deposit large cash sums. Third, find a Pekao deposit machine if your tariff offers free deposits there. In addition business clients should review the Biznes z Żubrem rules, because their thresholds and free limits differ.
Finally, remember the published rates cover one year only. After 31 August 2027 Pekao will apply the tariff tied to your specific product. Therefore monitor communications from the bank and update your habits accordingly.
