FEnIKS launch in Lublin marks a substantive upgrade to the city’s sewer network. The program funds wastewater infrastructure Lublin through EU support. The project includes 3.143 km of new sanitary sewers across several streets.

What the project will build

MPWiK Lublin signed two construction contracts on 24 August 2026. Moreover, the contractor is HYDRO-SYSTEM Mateusz Kwiatkowski. Consequently, work started on 25 August 2026. The city set a completion date of 10 December 2026 for the initial contracts. In addition, the contracts cover Północna and Daszyńskiego streets. The works include about 332 metres of DN 200 pipes in Północna. Also, the Daszyńskiego contract will tie into the DN 500 collector K. The contracts will provide service connections to named addresses. Therefore, residents on Północna and Willowa will gain sewer access. Furthermore, the project will reroute a medium-pressure gas line near Północna 209. The contractor will manage that relocation during construction.

FEnIKS replaces the earlier POIiŚ 2014-2020 programme. Moreover, the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy co-manages it. In addition, the NFOŚiGW (National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management) supports investments. The total project value stands at PLN 7,876,200.00. Consequently, eligible costs amount to PLN 6,458,400.00. The EU will fund 69 percent, or PLN 4,456,296.00. In addition, MPWiK has delivered nearly PLN 740 million worth of projects so far. Therefore, the operator brings deep experience with EU finance. The current stage, called Etap IV, plans to finish by 31 March 2028.
