Exact dates and amounts for Poland’s 14th pension

The government set dates and rules for the 14th pension in Poland; most will get small sums, while some receive nothing.

14th pension in Poland will arrive in September 2026. The ministry published a draft regulation and clarified who qualifies and when.

What the government announced about the 14th pension in Poland

The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy released a draft regulation. Consequently, seniors will get the payment together with their regular pension. Moreover, ZUS (Social Insurance Institution) will handle most checks automatically. In addition, KRUS (farmers’ social insurance) and the MSWiA pension office will process their lists. Therefore, you do not need to file any application. However, beware of people offering paid help. They often seek to steal data or money.

How much will seniors actually receive

The maximum gross amount equals 1978.49 PLN. Thus the net figure is roughly 1800.43 PLN after basic deductions. However, the full sum goes only to people with basic pensions up to 2900 PLN gross. Above that threshold, the administration reduces the extra payment by one złoty per złoty of pension. Therefore, the 14th pension drops to zero when monthly pension exceeds 4828.49 PLN gross. Moreover, average pensions sit well above the full-payment threshold. For example, ZUS reported an average of 4480.72 PLN gross in May 2026. Consequently, a person on that average will see only about 397.77 PLN extra. In short, many seniors will receive only a fraction of the headline amount. Furthermore, the payment covers not only standard pensions. It also applies to certain family and social pensions when recipients meet rules. Also, some categories never qualify, regardless of income.

Who will not receive the bonus and why it matters

First, retired judges and prosecutors receive retirement allowances. Therefore, the law excludes them because a separate pay system covers their benefits. Second, beneficiaries of the special Olympic pension also face exclusion. Third, people with suspended rights to basic benefits will not get the payment. Finally, anyone whose pension exceeds 4828.49 PLN gross will not qualify. Consequently, this rule affects wealthier retirees and some public-sector groups. In addition, the draft still may see small technical edits. However, the main scheme, timing, and cut-offs now appear final enough for people to calculate their expected payment.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: If you live in Poland as a foreigner and receive a Polish pension, ZUS, KRUS or the MSWiA pension office will check eligibility automatically. Apply for a PESEL (ID number) if you do not have one, since agencies often need it. Moreover, keep bank details updated with ZUS. Otherwise, payments may face delays. Also, beware of unofficial callers promising help for a fee. Report suspicious offers to your local police station or to ZUS.
