Euronet cuts BLIK ATM withdrawals to 200 zł

Euronet cuts BLIK cash withdrawals to 200 zł per operation. Learn what the Euronet ATM BLIK limit means for expats in Poland.

Euronet has cut the single-withdrawal ceiling for BLIK mobile-code transactions. The Euronet ATM BLIK limit now caps one withdrawal at 200 zł.

Euronet changes and what happened

The operator announced the change on 19 February 2026. Previously users could withdraw up to 800 zł with one BLIK operation. Therefore the single-withdrawal cap fell by 75 percent. Consequently customers who rarely visit ATMs may get surprised. Moreover the limit applies only to machines owned by Euronet Polska. However it does not create a nationwide cap on BLIK withdrawals.

Euronet ATM BLIK limit: who is affected

The rule affects cash withdrawals made with BLIK codes at Euronet devices. In addition it covers recyclers and cash machines that show the Euronet branding. However bank-branded ATMs run by Euronet are exempt. For example machines marked with PKO, Pekao, ING, mBank or Santander logos usually follow bank rules. Also card withdrawals remain unchanged. Therefore you can still withdraw higher amounts with your debit or credit card at most bank ATMs.

Practical impact and scale

The drop changes how people take larger sums. If you need 500 zł you must make three separate BLIK withdrawals. For 800 zł you must perform four operations. Consequently you may hit per-day limits set by your bank or by BLIK. Moreover Euronet says the move responds to economics. The company argues reimbursement rates for BLIK withdrawals do not cover actual costs. Therefore it reduced exposure to losses. However Polish Standard Płatności, the BLIK operator, criticized the move. It said the cap lowers customer convenience. In addition BLIK reminded users that more than 13,000 ATMs in Poland still accept larger BLIK withdrawals under different terms. For context Poles made 79 million BLIK ATM withdrawals in 2025. Thus the change could affect many daily routines.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: Expats should check ATM logos before withdrawing cash. If the machine shows a bank logo, it often follows that bank’s rules and may not use the Euronet cap. Also use card withdrawals to access larger sums. Remember Polish institutions sometimes still require cash. For example you might pay a local fine in cash or handle small transactions at markets. In addition note key Polish terms: ZUS (social insurance), NFZ (public health fund), and PESEL (national ID number). Therefore carry small banknotes when you register for services or pay small fees. Finally contact your bank if you expect daily-limit issues.

Outlook and wider context

Do not confuse this step with EU cash rules coming in 2027. The EU will cap some large cash purchases at 10,000 euros from 10 July 2027. However that rule targets big cash payments and anti-money laundering. Therefore it does not limit ATM cash withdrawals or account balances directly. Euronet says the 200 zł cap will remain until it changes the policy. Consequently monitor notices on machines and app alerts. Moreover use bank ATMs if you need bigger single withdrawals.
