Check OFE and PPK Balances in Two Minutes

Find your forgotten money in OFE and PPK in two minutes using PUE ZUS and MojePPK.

Millions of Poles may be sitting on forgotten money in OFE or PPK. In two minutes you can see how much you saved.

Forgotten money: check OFE and PPK in 2 minutes

Open pension funds (OFE) began in 1999 during a pension reform. They form the second pillar of pensions alongside ZUS (ZUS, Social Insurance Institution). Moreover, employers and funds changed names over time. Therefore many people lost track of balances. You can check quickly through PUE ZUS (PUE ZUS, ZUS Electronic Services Platform). First log in with a trusted profile, bank ID, e-ID, or the mObywatel app. Then click “Ubezpieczony”. Next choose “OFE” and “Informacje o stanie konta”. You will see contributions and current value. However, if the OFE tab stays empty, you had no OFE or all contributions went to ZUS. Also note the “suwak bezpieczeństwa”. Consequently, funds transfer to your ZUS sub-account ten years before retirement. Therefore some money may already sit in your ZUS sub-account.

OFE — what it is and how to check via PUE ZUS

OFE still hold private investments for many workers. If you worked since 1999 and never opted out, you likely have an account. Moreover fund mergers and employer changes can hide your history. Check beneficiary names on your OFE account. In addition review the fund performance and fees. You cannot change OFE data via PUE, but you can learn where money sits. If data differ, contact your PTE (powszechne towarzystwo emerytalne).

PPK — how employer and state contributions work

PPK started in 2019 and auto-enrolls employees aged 18 to 55. In addition your employer and the state add contributions. Many employees resigned at the first enrollment. However employers must re-enroll them every four years. Therefore if you changed jobs, you may have several PPK accounts. Use MojePPK at rachunek.mojeppk.pl to see all accounts. Log in with a trusted profile or a local MojePPK account. The service shows total value, per-account lists, contribution history, and charts. The site only informs. To manage funds, use the specific institution’s portal directly.

Why you should check today

Checking takes two to three minutes if you already own a trusted profile. If not, set one up via your bank in a few clicks. Moreover funds grow with time and compounding. Therefore leaving money unmonitored costs potential returns. Also funds in OFE and PPK transfer on death. In addition they do not vanish. However, if you do not update beneficiaries, payouts may become complicated. Check and update beneficiary data now. You only need your PESEL (PESEL, Polish national ID number) and login details.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: If you are an expat, you can still access PUE ZUS and MojePPK. Use an e-banking login or create a trusted profile via your Polish bank. In addition keep copies of your PESEL and employment records. Consequently contact your HR or the financial institution if MojePPK finds no account. Finally update beneficiaries and keep proof of your instructions in English and Polish.
