Burza the shy cat seeks a forever home

Burza, a cautious young cat for adoption in Sosnowiec, needs a patient owner. She is vetted, chipped and neutered.

Burza is a timid, grey young cat for adoption who arrived at the shelter on April 14, 2026. Consequently, she now waits for a calm and responsible owner who will give her time and safety.

About Burza and her needs

Burza was born in January 2025. Moreover, shelter staff vaccinated and neutered her. In addition, they microchipped, dewormed and treated her for fleas. Therefore, tests for FELV and FIV returned negative. However, staff do not yet know how she reacts to other cats. Consequently, the shelter asks adopters to introduce other animals slowly.

What kind of home will suit Burza

Burza shows a cautious nature. Moreover, she withdraws and observes new situations from a safe distance. In addition, she allows gentle contact and accepts petting. However, she still remains reserved. Therefore, adopters must not rush her. Also, a quiet household will give her the best chance to trust. Furthermore, she may become a loyal companion after proper socialisation.

Adoption practicalities and requirements

The shelter asks adopters to be adults and to bring ID. Moreover, you must bring a cat carrier for transport. In addition, staff require a 50 zł adoption fee and a signed adoption contract. Therefore, volunteers will arrange handover and answer questions. Also, if volunteers do not pick up, leave an SMS. They will call back as soon as possible. Contact numbers are Ewa: 789 334 979, Patrycja: 789 133 569, Ania: 789 388 169.

Local volunteers already support Burza. Moreover, a class from Primary School no. 25 in Sosnowiec sponsors her virtually. However, the shelter now seeks a permanent home. Therefore, adopters should expect veterinary files and clear health records. Also, shelters in Poland commonly use small adoption fees to cover basic veterinary work.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: As an expat you can adopt in Poland with your passport. In addition, shelters usually accept foreign ID if you are over 18. Moreover, registration rules vary by city. For context, ZUS is the social security institution, NFZ is the national health fund, PESEL is the national ID number, and a mandat means a fine. Therefore, expect to sign a contract and to follow local rules for pet transport. Finally, microchipping helps if the cat ever wanders off.

Adopting Burza will require patience. However, you will also gain a grateful and steady companion. Consequently, a calm routine and gentle handling will help her adapt. In addition, adopters gain the satisfaction of giving a rescued animal a second chance.
