Avia drops points in Starachowice; Podlasie scores five

Avia Świdnik drew 1-1 in Starachowice while Podlasie won 5-0. Stal Kraśnik missed a penalty and Świdniczanka suffered relegation.

Avia Świdnik dropped points in Starachowice after a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile Podlasie Biała Podlaska thrashed Sparta 5-0 and Stal Kraśnik squandered a chance to win.

Avia Świdnik held to draw in Starachowice

The match started disastrously for Avia. Within seconds Jakub Kowalski beat goalkeeper Mateusz Białka with a strike from around sixteen metres. However, Avia regrouped. Coach Wojciech Szacoń could not field his top scorer Andrija Remeniuk because of suspension. Consequently the visitors pressed for an equaliser. Dave Assuncao won a penalty in the 59th minute, and Paweł Uliczny converted from the spot. Moreover, Avia created chances late. Szymon Kamiński had a match winner in the final moments. However the goalkeeper denied him. Therefore the teams shared the points and Avia now face three critical matches for the season finish.

Stal Kraśnik and a missed chance

Stal hoped for a third straight win. Instead they drew 1-1 at home with Siarka Tarnobrzeg. Siarka scored first from a corner through Kacper Marszalik. In addition Stal levelled early in the second half. Sascha Martinez scored from a free kick. However Martinez then missed a penalty after a collision in the box. The visitors delayed the kick to unsettle him. Consequently Martinez sent the ball inches wide. Therefore both teams left satisfied with one point each.

Podlasie’s youth shine and other results

Podlasie Biała Podlaska outclassed Sparta 5-0. They led 3-0 by half time. Moreover they added two goals after the break. Coach Maciej Oleksiuk now has four straight wins. In addition three teenagers found the net. Marcel Dobruk and Szymon Twarowski are born in 2009. Adam Sacharuk comes from 2008. Meanwhile Świdniczanka lost 0-3 at home to Pogoń-Sokół Lubaczów. As a result Świdniczanka cannot avoid relegation with three rounds left and a ten-point deficit.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: Local third-division matches give authentic Polish football experience. Tickets cost little and fans stay close to the pitch. However expect limited English at smaller grounds. In Poland municipal clubs often rely on city support and local sponsors. Also note common administrative terms: ZUS (social insurance office), NFZ (public health fund), PESEL (national ID number), and mandat (police fine). If you plan long stays, register your PESEL and healthcare access through NFZ to avoid issues.

Lower-league football matters locally. Small clubs act as community hubs. Therefore relegation hits more than sporting pride. It affects youth programmes and local budgets. Moreover expats who follow teams should watch for fixture changes. Clubs sometimes move kick-off times late in the week. In addition travel between towns is short. Busses and regional trains connect Starachowice, Świdnik, Kraśnik and Biała Podlaska. Consequently fans can visit multiple matches in a weekend.
