Jary Oddział Zamknięty & CamaSutra to Play Kurów
Jary Oddział Zamknięty and CamaSutra will headline the Kurów county harvest festival, while officials decide on the venue and programme details.
The county of Puławy announced today that it signed a contract to stage this year’s county harvest festival, and Jary Oddział Zamknięty and CamaSutra will headline the event. Moreover, officials say the dożynki will thank farmers and celebrate local traditions. However, the exact location still awaits a final decision.
Agreement and venue debate
Starosta Teresa Gutowska and Kurow mayor Arkadiusz Małecki signed the deal. Consequently, the city and county now coordinate the event planned for late August. In addition, two sites remain under consideration. The county prefers the school sports field. However, the town council leans toward the Old Market square. Moreover, the Old Market hosts the annual municipal harvest festival. Therefore, both sides weigh capacity, access and local business impact.
Event format and programme highlights
Organisers promise local bands, artistic groups and soloists from across the county. In addition, children will get activities and family-friendly animation. Moreover, stalls will promote towns and communes in the region. However, officials have announced a notable change. They will move the preceding county firefighting competitions to Puławy. Consequently, the competitions will take place at the MOSiR stadium. In addition, MOSiR offers tartan tracks, a full-size football pitch and a covered stand. Therefore, the stadium can host larger crowds and sports events more safely.
Headliners: Jary Oddział Zamknięty and CamaSutra
Jary Oddział Zamknięty formed in 2013 when Krzysztof Jaryczewski, the original vocalist of the classic band Oddział Zamknięty, re-established a line-up. Moreover, former OZ singer Zbyszek Bieniak joined that project. Therefore, the new group performs many familiar hits and appeals to fans of Polish rock from the 1980s. In addition, CamaSutra will supply lighter, danceable disco polo rhythms. The band started in 2013 and features vocalist Małgorzata Główka. Consequently, their songs often draw crowds who want to dance and sing along.
Local history and recent editions
Last year officials staged the county dożynki in Końskowola with Poparzeni Kawą Trzy as the headliner. Moreover, earlier editions featured Boys and De Mono in Wąwolnica and Janowiec. Therefore, the county rotates hosts to spotlight different communities. In addition, these events remain free or low-cost for the public in most cases. However, expect paid amenities or VIP areas at bigger shows.
