28 km Rally Celebrates Constitution Day in Lublin Region

A 28 km community ride called Constitution on a Bike drew families and seniors to Trzydnik Duży. The event promoted cycling, civic pride and local culture.

The community completed a 28 km ride to commemorate May 3rd called Constitution on a Bike. Moreover, the rally attracted families, seniors and local clubs.

Constitution on a Bike: route and turnout

Organisers started riders at the square near the Dom Ludowy in Szczecyn. In addition, participants picked up start packs with commemorative shirts. The group rode through small villages including Baraki and Stare Baraki. Furthermore, they passed Józefów, Salomin and Agatówka. Consequently, the route continued to Trzydnik Duży and Trzydnik Mały. However, riders did not stop until Rzeczyca Ziemiańska and Rzeczyca Ziemiańska-Kolonia. Finally, the finish came at the green area by the ponds in Rzeczyca Księżej where a picnic awaited.

Why the ride matters locally

The ride honoured the 1791 Constitution and promoted active citizenship today. Moreover, organisers said the event reinforced patriotic and civic attitudes. The rally served health, tourism and community goals. In addition, it encouraged cycling as local transport. Therefore, the event bonded residents across ages. Children, youth and seniors all joined. Furthermore, local culture groups performed at the finish. The fire brigade showed equipment, and volunteers offered traditional food. Organisers also held a bicycle raffle and set up inflatable slides for the youngest.

Who organised it and why

Several municipalities and civil organisations organised the rally. They included the Gmina Trzydnik Duży and Gmina Gościeradów. In addition, Powiat Kraśnicki and Stowarzyszenie Wschód Lubelskich Serc helped. The event ran with support from the Marshal’s Office of the Lublin Voivodeship. Consequently, the rally linked to the “Warto być Polakiem” programme. That programme aims to strengthen civic awareness and shape patriotic attitudes. Therefore, public funds often back such cultural and civic initiatives.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: If you are an expat in Poland, consider joining local commemorations. Constitution Day on May 3rd is a public holiday and many towns hold rallies and parades. Moreover, local events offer a chance to meet neighbours and practise Polish. Remember to carry ID or a copy of your passport when you cycle. If you live here long-term, you use a PESEL number for many services (PESEL is the national ID number). In addition, health care ties to the NFZ (national health fund), and social contributions go to ZUS. Also, traffic fines (mandat) apply for infractions like cycling on sidewalks. Therefore, check local rules and wear a helmet for safety.
