Majówka in Rzeszów 2026: Market, Concerts & Paniaga

Majówka in Rzeszów 2026 brings markets, patriotic ceremonies and the city’s Święto Paniagi. Enjoy crafts, concerts and family events across the long weekend.

Majówka in Rzeszów 2026 kicks off a busy long May weekend with markets, patriotic ceremonies and the city’s signature Święto Paniagi. Moreover, the programme mixes family fun with historical events and a film-music concert finale.

Handicrafts and Local Flavors

From May 1 to May 3 al. Lubomirskich and al. Pod Kasztanami host a regional craft market. Consequently, vendors will sell handmade jewellery, ceramics, candles and home decor. In addition, local food producers will offer cheeses, honeys and sourdough bread. Therefore, visitors can taste regional pastries and buy direct from makers. Moreover, stalls often prove useful for souvenir shopping and discovering local producers. However, bring cash and a card, because some small booths prefer cash.

Walking Paniaga, Medieval Duels and Civic Ceremonies

The festival begins on May 1 with a guided walk along Paniaga. Consequently, guides will point out the street’s stories and quirks. In addition, the castle moat will host a medieval knight tournament and a traditional craft fair. Moreover, families will find living-history demonstrations suitable for children. On May 2 the city will mark Flag Day with a flag-raising and military band concert. Therefore, expect speeches and a public ceremony in the market square. On May 3 the city will hold Constitution Day events. In addition, organisers schedule a mass, a march and an official gathering at the Tadeusz Kościuszko monument.

Majówka in Rzeszów 2026: Święto Paniagi and Finale

The three-day celebration concludes with Święto Paniagi on the final day. Consequently, the event features a colourful procession and stage shows. Moreover, the 2026 edition spotlights sport to mark Rzeszów’s title as City of Sport. In addition, the programme highlights 30 years of partnership with Nyíregyháza, Hungary. Therefore, delegations from partner cities will present cultural booths. Evening organisers plan a symphonic film-music concert on the Rynek. Attendees will hear pieces from films like Gladiator, Titanic and Inception in orchestral arrangements. However, expect crowds, so arrive early for good spots.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: Public transport will run on a holiday schedule. Consequently, trams or buses may be less frequent. Moreover, allow time for walking and limited parking near the market square. For practical matters, remember Polish systems such as PESEL (national ID number), ZUS (social insurance office) and NFZ (public health insurer) when arranging official business. In addition, keep your ID at events and obey local rules to avoid a mandat (fine). Therefore, if you need healthcare, EU visitors can use the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) or buy private coverage. Finally, check schedules on the city website and book any paid concerts in advance.

Rzeszów expects residents and tourists to enjoy three days of open-air events, local tastes and civic commemorations. Moreover, the mix of entertainment and historical programming makes the weekend accessible to families and expats. Therefore, whether you come for crafts, knights or the finale concert, plan ahead and enjoy the city.
