Serious accident in Mazovia occurred around 20:00 on national road 62 near Wilczkowo. Consequently, two people required hospital treatment and an air ambulance landed at the scene.

Serious accident in Mazovia: What happened

Police say a 23-year-old woman driving a Volkswagen turned left and failed to yield to an oncoming Volvo. As a result, the two cars collided on the stretch of DK62 in Wilczkowo. Moreover, first responders found two injured passengers at the scene. Therefore, emergency crews called the Lotnicze Pogotowie Ratunkowe helicopter because of the victims’ condition. In addition, police reported that both drivers tested sober on the spot. However, investigators continue their work to confirm exact fault and sequence.

Injuries, emergency response and what officials did

Paramedics transported a 25-year-old passenger from the Volkswagen to hospital. Also, a 44-year-old passenger from the Volvo went by ambulance to the same hospital. Consequently, medical staff assessed both victims and the LPR team assisted on arrival. Moreover, the police secured the scene for evidence. Therefore, the road remained partially blocked for many hours while crews worked.

Road impact and advice for drivers

Traffic on DK62 runs on alternating flow at the crash site. Drivers should expect delays at least until 1:00 a.m. and should plan alternate routes. For example, use nearby regional roads or follow police diversion signs. In addition, ride-sharing or public transport may avoid long waits. However, if you must drive through Wilczkowo, slow down and follow directions from officers on site.

💡 GOOD TO KNOW: If you witness or suffer an accident in Poland, call 112 first. Emergency medical care usually goes through the National Health Fund (NFZ), so residents get urgent care free at the point of service (the NFZ is Poland’s public health system). Moreover, the air ambulance service (LPR) responds to the most serious cases. For insurance and legal steps, get a police report on site and keep photos. Also, you may receive a “mandat” (fine) or be required to attend a court hearing if traffic rules caused the crash. Keep identity documents handy; a PESEL number (national ID number) helps with hospital registration for residents, but non-residents should show passport and insurance documents. Finally, contact your car insurer and ask them to handle claims while you keep the police protocol as proof.
