Lublin: Regional Easter Crafts Winners

Lublin jury awarded winners of the Easter palm and egg contest, highlighting living Easter traditions.

On 23 March 2026 a jury convened at the Museum of the Lublin Countryside to judge regional entries. The Easter palm and egg contest drew 152 submissions and awards across tradition and contemporary categories.

Easter palm and egg contest results

The jury comprised Katarzyna Kraczoń, Sylwia Dmowska and Bogna Głuchowska. Judges reviewed 152 entries in depth. Consequently they awarded prizes in four main categories.

In traditional eggs among children they honoured Julia Litwiniec, Piotr Prószyński and Mateusz Budzyński. In adults authorship, winners included Michał and Inga Kowalik and Kamil Wolanin. In contemporary eggs children winners were Jagoda Danił, Kaja Danił and Izabela Janczak. In adults category judges chose Barbara Jędrasik, Teresa Jaroć and Dorota Szpyra.

For traditional palms youth winners included Lidia Łagoda and Anna and Julia Kowalik. Wiktoria Moskal took first place among adults. Second went to the Swojaki women’s circle from Izbica. Third prize went to Barbara Garbal of Izbica. Contemporary palms for youth honoured Ernest Galant, Mariola Borys and Mateusz Furman. Winners in adult contemporary palms included Ewelina Sosnowska, the duet Lilla Stachura and Wioleta Musiał, and Katarzyna Stachańska.

The jury also gave several distinctions. In traditional egg engraving they praised Marlena Charecka, Kinga Matyjaszczyk, Ilona Wargocka and Danuta Perestaj. In batik technique they awarded Tomasz Krajewski and Roman Prószyński. Palms distinctions recognised Anna Wałach and Robert Bojarski. Moreover the Marshal of Lublin Voivodeship awarded a special prize. That prize went to the Rzeczyca Ziemiańska women’s circle. In addition organisers gave extra recognition to the Lawenda circle. The local folk creators proved strong and varied craftsmanship.

Lublin region keeps Easter crafts alive. Consequently museums and rural women’s groups preserve technique and stories. Koła Gospodyń Wiejskich are vital cultural hubs.
